CROE’S CHARITABLE GOALS

CROE’S CHARITABLE GOALS

PREVENTING DEFORESTATION

The impact of deforestation is far greater than most of us realise. Not only does it increase the CO2 present in the atmosphere, it also weakens ecosystems and as most forests are found in the poorest areas on the planet, it also adds to the extreme poverty that’s already present. ...The impact of deforestation is far greater than most of us realise. Not only does it increase the CO2 present in the atmosphere, it also weakens ecosystems and as most forests are found in the poorest areas on the planet, it also adds to the extreme poverty that’s already present. CROE is working with fellow UK company Earthly, which works to help businesses fight against climate change and the problems created by deforestation. For every 10g of caviar sold, CROE plants a Mangrove tree, with the aim of supporting Earthly to hit their goal of planting 500 million trees by 2025. You can also opt to further help us by matching our donation at the checkout. Not only does planting Mangroves remove around 308kg of CO2 from the atmosphere over its life-cycle (approx. 25 years), but it also offers other ecosystem services including natural coastal defences from floors, increased biodiversity and sediment reduction. It also creates an ‘employ to plant’ scheme, creating fair employment to local people to grow, plant and guard the forests on an enormous scale.

AIDING BREAST CANCER RESEARCH

There are approximately 55,200 new breast cancer cases in the UK every year… which equates to roughly 150 everyday. It’s the most common cancer in this country, accounting for 15% of all new cancer cases, and the rates have steadily increased year on year since the early 1990s. ...The strength and frequency of this disease is a huge threat to our society on an everyday basis, and CROE seeks to contribute to the fight against it. Every October, CROE will be celebrating Breast Cancer Awareness month with campaigns, events, fundraising and new product launches for vital causes that work to research the cause of this disease, thus preventing its prevalence in the future. To find out more, subscribe to our newsletter at the bottom of the page to ensure you’re the first to receive our news around Breast Cancer Awareness month.

FIGHTING CHILD POVERTY IN THE UK

30% of children in the UK currently live in poverty, amounting to 4.3 million children which is projected to rise to 5.2 million by 2022. COVID-19 has seen an increase in awareness of this problem, but it has also seen cases rise due to the impact the pandemic has disproportionately had on disadvantaged children. ...CROE is aware of the urgency of this problem and is seeking to support charities that work in a combination of ways; food redistribution, grassroots projects, emotional and practical support and problem solving to lift children and families out of poverty. Launching later in 2021, make sure you’re subscribed to our newsletter to be the first to hear about our initiative to help children and how you too can help.
